Lexine Demientieff is 13 years old. She proudly carries the blood of her ancestors. The history of the Gwichyaa Gwich’in /Vuntut Gwich’in and Black Ancestry.  
Lexine is fromGwichyaa Zhee (Fort Yukon Alaska) she is the daughter of Jason and Bernadette Demientieff.
Family: Lexine has 3 older brothers and a sister. She has 6 nephews and a niece.

Her maternal grandparents are (Walter) and Betty Flitt of Fort Yukon Alaska , Bernard and (Melanie) Hornsby of Louisiana. Thomas Frank of Venetie.
Great grandparents were the late Daniel and Margaret Horace of Gwichyaa Zhee (Fort Yukon Alaska) and her great great grandmother was the late Marcis (Horace) Moses of the Old Moses Clan of Old Crow YT Canada.
Her paternal grandparents are Luke and Sandra Demientieff of Holy Cross, Great Grandparents Luke and Alice Demeintieff; and Frank and Mary Turner, all of Holy Cross Alaska

Lexine has been advocating for the animals and for Alaska for years. She’s one of 16th plaintiffs in the lawsuit against the State of Alaska. She stands firmly with her people to protect the calving grounds of the porcupine caribou herd and the Gwich’in way of life.

2022- Gwich’in Leaders flew into Washington DC to pressure congressional leaders to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

2021- Red Road to Washington DC
2020- Was featured in the “American Girl” book and continues to speak for the land, water , animals and their way of life.
2019 -She attended the youth climate rally in New York and spoke of the changes.
2018- Lexine received the Northern Center’s “Youth of the Year” award, for her dedication to climate justice for her generation, and speaking out to protect the arctic refuge.
